Report #2

Over the last few weeks, I continued experimenting with the drawn background using shapes of different scales and then moving into color tests. Initially I focused on colors to work with the colors of W_P #2. I found that to be limiting (in part because I am not thrilled with that piece and its construction and material issues).  I plan to build  W_P #3 with more neutral colors and fewer variations in texture ad material, so I started playing with color on the background as a stand alone. It  may not compliment the current piece, or maybe it will. I can't say yet.

Blues and black and grays

Decided to cut out large shapes to experiment with the dimension it might add. It also mad it quicker to try out colors for large shapes by laying over sheets of color.

bronze

blue

brown

gold yellow (which I particularly liked so I went on to paint that one).

Painted large shapes and printed black lines (and blobs) which was the result of an experiment I ended up liking.

Beginning the painting for the large background.

Then this happened...  The Sacred Geometry book arrived and spurred another level of investigation. I started geometrically graphing the various shapes and looking for interesting relationships. There is definitely something interesting here. Not just sure where it will go.

A few examples...
