I have been thinking about ways to visually connect the background image to the shape surface and started experimenting with cutting printing blocks with the diagramming lines on them to print on the surface of the shapes before folding and gluing. I cut one block for the large sub shapes and another for the lines themselves. This is how it turned out so far. I think the connection is stronger. If some of these printed shapes were placed in with the solid color painted shapes it could work nicely. I also started drawing the geometric lines on the background but they are hard to see in this image. I will continue with that too.
